Peter Englander established Box Canyon Builders in
1989 after a real estate career among the skyscrapers of New York,
education at New York University and the prestigious Real Estate Institute,
and numerous single-family home projects in Fairfield County Connecticut.
In Telluride, the company grew to become one of the most respected
builders in the community through the restoration of historical landmarks,
construction of some of the most exquisite homes in the area, and
involvement in numerous community projects.
In 2002, Peter met Josh Rapaport, a builder and environmentalist from
Fairfield County who shared his vision for a ‘different’
type of company; one that respects the individuality of each project.
Schooled at Colgate University with a degree in environmental studies
and urban planning and at the San Francisco Institute of Architecture
in organic architecture/building, Josh helped shape the company to
incorporate the increasing demand for green and sustainable design.
Today, Box Canyon Builders holds offices in Telluride, CO and Mill
Valley, CA. Our office in the San Francisco Bay area provides unlimited
access to the some of the world’s foremost design resources.
By remaining on the cutting edge, we bring a fresh perspective to
our work.
The unique combination of our portfolio, services, format, limited
production and mainstream involvement make us unlike any other local
company.
