Peter Englander established Box Canyon Builders in 1989 after a real estate career among the skyscrapers of New York, education at New York University and the prestigious Real Estate Institute, and numerous single-family home projects in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Peter is an award winning and published builder who has been in the industry for over 20 years. He has worked from coast-to-coast on private estates, subdivisions, and commercial and historic restoration projects in a variety of architectural styles as a general contractor, developer, manager or owner's representative. He has completed over 200 projects worth over $300 million. He received Green Building Certification in 2008.

In 2002, Peter met Josh Rapaport, a builder from Fairfield County who shared his vision for the type of company that respects the individuality of each project. Schooled at Colgate University with a degree in environmental studies and urban planning and at the San Francisco Institute of Architecture in organic architecture/building, Josh helped shape the company to incorporate the increasing demand for green and sustainable design.

Today, Box Canyon Builders holds offices in Telluride, CO and Mill Valley, CA. Our office in the San Francisco Bay area provides unlimited access to the some of the world’s foremost design resources. By remaining on the cutting edge, we bring a fresh perspective to our work.
